Fearless – Taylor’s Version – A Swifties’ Review

It seems like 2021 is full of many surprises, and Taylor Swift’s new version of her 2008 album ‘Fearless’ is definitely a good one. I think we can all agree that this album has a song for each one of us to just drive around blasting it. I was only 9 years old when this album was first released, but that did not stop me from pouring my heart out while singing along to the songs.

I will admit that when ‘Love Story’ was released a few weeks ago, I was extremely excited and went to listen to it right away. Although the song itself sounds the same, I was very grateful for the lyric video that was released with it. If you have not gone to see it on YouTube yet, the whole idea behind this new version is a thank you to all of Taylor’s Swifties. The video is very touching, and includes a lot of images of Taylor with her fans throughout the years. Although some people are not as happy to see that it is just a redo of her album without any changes, I personally think that this was a very thoughtful idea from Taylor and her team.

Taylor also went on Instagram and announced the launch of this new version of ‘Fearless’ by posting an image of the new album cover followed by a few heartfelt words. Swift explained her appreciation and love for all her fans for all the support they continue to give to the album. What I think got me on my toes by reading this though, was that the new version will include 6 new songs that were held back from the original album. I don’t know about you guys, but I absolutely started to fangirl over this as soon as the words were coming out of my mouth as I re-read the text over and over again.

As a fellow Swiftie myself, I am extremely excited to hear the rest of the album and cannot wait to see what new surprises Taylor has in store for us. I know we are still in times of COVID, but I would definitely love a new Fearless tour when everything is back to normal.
