Texas Bowl in Houston
The Texas Tech Red Raiders (7-5) and Ole Miss Rebels (8-4) will meet in the Texas Bowl Wednesday at the NRG Stadium in Houston. The Texas Bowl is an annual postseason NCAA-sanctioned Division I FBS college football bowl game first held in 2006 in Houston, Texas.
The Teams
Texas Tech Red Raiders
This is head coach Joey McGuire’s first year in Lubbock. Texas Tech finished 5-4 in Big 12 play and had a big win against Texas early on in the season. The Red Raiders have a young talented young quarterback in Behren Morton and all of these combinations should make for a motivated team.
Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss at one point in the season was a top ten team, but it was a disappointing finish to the season for Ole Miss . A three-game losing streak to end the year has left a sour taste and will have them wanting to end the year on a high note. Mississippi has not had many opt outs for this game, however, so Kiffin should have close to a full roster at his disposal.
The Rebels are a perfect 3-0 against the Red Raiders in bowl contests and will want to keep that in tact.
