Houston Sports Bars for Super Bowl Watch Nights

The Super Bowl is happening next week. Despite the Houston Texans having been eliminated from the playoffs, the hype in Houston remains alive.

Many places will have sports fans gathered for the big night, especially sports bars.

In Houston, there are a lot of bars to think of or decide where it’s good to go. In this list, 10 have been picked from me to recommend where you would likely attend and their main reasons why.

10 Houston Sports Bars for Super Bowl Watch Nights

Known as Houston’s biggest sports bar and party, with over 65 screens, 50 beers, huge lineup of food, and every major sports game to watch, from college and national leagues. It is official the place will be having a watch party of the Super Bowl, titled The Big Game. The environment has screens all around you, in a 360 degree experience looking big as a stadium screen.

The Houston location has been rated for the best sports bar for Texans, Rockets. This is also the only location in Texas and has been a spot for visitors like Dallas Stars fans.

When it’s not about the Super Bowl anymore, you can reserve your own events at Tom’s Watch Bar! Whatever it is, tailgating, corporate events, celebration parties, and weddings, you can contact Anne Marie Case on the website.

Little Woodrow’s welcomes folks who love drinks and sports, but also the funnest energy. The outdoor bar identifies a place to share good times and cold beer with its variety of events and backyard setting. It serves as a throwback to playing in the yard during your childhood, but reserved for adults.

The bar has the most locations in Houston, with at least 10 like Bellaire, Eado, Katy, Rice Village, Sugar Land and more. It is also across Texas, with more than 10 locations outside Houston!

There have always been events dedicated to sports and entertainment in different locations. Although it’s in other cities, Super Bowl Sunday at South Bark will have its own puppy bowl and the rest will have Touch Potluck as the main event for the game with people happy to bring their own foods, both happening at 3 pm.

Did I forget to mention that one of their legendary traditions is Turtle Racing? Yep, actual turtles racing on Thursday nights!

Found Downtown inside the Marriott Marquis Houston and seen for their taco samplers and luxury interiors, there’s Biggio’s. A good choice for those living inside the hotels or in central Houston, there can be matching vibes and high quality delicacy.

The food is the staple of the place. There’s one thing that stands out from average sports bars and that is that the kitchen is lead by chef Edgar Maldonado. Options to enjoy are tacos with unique meats, cider brined wings, Texas Twinkies, cocktails with or without alcohol, beer, and wine.

Another budget friendly sports bar to mention is Jake’s Sports Bar. This place has a classic neighborhood feel with a traditional bar environment that’s known to suburban people including the wooden furniture, darts, arcades, and jukebox.

What Rodeo GOAT stands out is its burger image. The menu has a long lineup of foods and drinks that you expect the first time going in (literally). You can change the meat patties for a turkey, chicken, vegan, impossible, or a burger bowl. There are also salads available or change the burger to be a bowl.

The bar has a positive relationship with the community. Rodeo GOAT always supports nonprofit organizations through fundraisers and events and made over $100,000 in support to disaster relief, health, food pantry, and pet shelter. It also gets customers to join a competing bracket called the Battle of the Burgers, which are specially created burgers made to appeal to customers and order to vote in the round.

The Houston location is recommended since it’s in Downtown, but it has opened a new location in Arlington and is in other Texas cities.

Different from most bars in Houston, Ron’s Pub is British-styled! Friendly and charming home for european sports and diversity, but also a good place to watch American sports, especially the Super Bowl. Located near The Houston Galleria, it has been running for three decades and people have been admiring the British pub culture while making memories.

After the game, you can always attend weekly events: Mondays with trivia night at 7 pm, Wednesday evenings with dart leagues (feel free to join), Friday live music at 8 pm, and Sunday jazz brunch at 11 am. You can also reserve your own events.

10. The Den at the University of Houston

4835 Calhoun Rd, Houston, TX 77004

This is a great place mostly for University of Houston students! It was made in 2008 as the original Houston campus bar, located in University Dr and Calhoun Rd. With people always coming in for every Houston sports team playing, including UH’s own teams, while enjoying some featured drinks and food. This is quite a small bar, but when it’s not busy, it’s definitely relaxing for coogs who likes to unwind after a busy day.

Each day has its own themed weekly specials such as Taco Mondays with $1 tacos from 5 pm to 9 pm, Texas Thursdays, Friday Night Lights, and Sunday Specials with new drinks made for the day until 2pm and hosting game watch parties.
