July 24, 2025As someone who loves to go out and have a great time, I can confidently say that there are so many fun activities for friend groups in Houston. With such a large night life scene, and even larger counties and areas to explore, any and every corner of the city has its fair share of exciting opportunities to explore with a group of friends. There is never a dull moment in our beautiful city, and I am here to show you just how true that is.
From challenging team building activities, to abstract beautiful adventures, to becoming an abstract masterpiece yourself, there are so many things to do with your group of pals. There are so many cool places to explore in the Bayou City. After reading this list, you will have a so many different plans to make.
Here is a list of 10 things to do in Houston with your friends next time you decide to plan a fun friendly outing.
10 Activities For Friend Groups In Houston
I want to start off the list with an activity my friends and I have fallen in love with in recent years. If you want a challenging yet fun time with loved ones, nothing beats a good classic escape room. With so many locations to choose from in Houston, finding one near you may be easier than you think. Some of my personal favorite locations include The Escape Game in CityCentre or Paniq Room in Midtown.
No matter what location you choose to book at however, I can guarantee that you will be having the time of your life solving these fun puzzles, all while following compelling storylines that are original to every room you pick. Most locations also offer a discount in case you want to do 2 rooms back to back. So there is no reason to cut the fun short. Make sure you put your thinking caps on and prepare for a fun team building adventure.

Not only did we have an amazing time (we’ve done almost all the games from Escape Game now and they are the BEST escape room experience hands down), but the staff at City Center went out of their way to accommodate and help us. They not only do escape rooms well but they genuinely care about their patrons and treat them so kindly. Thank you for such a great experience for me and my family!

We came on a Sunday afternoon about 4 PM. Drinks, food and video games...what more could you want!! I could really spend all whole day in here and be happy! I like cider and beer but a spirit option would be nice too! We tried about 6 different ciders and they were all really good. The pizza is delicious too!! Definitely will be back!

A bar and an arcade experience sounds fun, but what about an Arcade and Go Karts? Throw on a fully sized race track, like those in a video game, as well as laser tag and you get Speedy’s Fast Track. Speedy’s Fast Track provides family friendly fun for everyone to enjoy all at a very affordable price.
As I mentioned, their fully sized race track allows you to hop on a Go Kart and race like never before. You can also purchase entertainment bundles that allow you to experience the rush of racing, and laser tag together in one entertaining night. And with prices that don’t break the bank, this is definitely a place you have to check out.

Really neat and creative artistic concept. My friends and I spent a little over 2 hours there, but there was definitely more to be seen. I’m honestly not quite sure how you would see it all! You definitely get your money’s worth with the price of the tickets. I’d say this a great experience for individuals of all ages. For the adults, there’s an added bonus of an in-house bar and smaller bar. There is a storyline and scavenger hunt you can follow along if you’d like through their app, but it’s not a requirement to enjoy. I personally liked wandering around aimlessly to check out all the cool trinkets. The staff was friendly and helpful, I definitely recommend a visit.

This is my fourth time at Beat the Bomb this year which should already be an indication of how great this place is. I enjoyed it so much the first time around when playing with my friends that I brought my kids back to play, another set of friends, and this time my kids and their friends. Each time has been enjoyable. Staff is very friendly, from front of staff to bar staff to the staff hosing us off after getting paint blasted and slimed. The challenges and games are appropriate for all ages, kids (8+) and adults alike. We've played the bay arcade games as well and those were just as fun as the mission games. I love the games that are physically challenging and the games that require a little more critical thinking. All of the challenges require teamwork so it's great for team building. Get ready to sweat and laugh your butt off, and of course, get blasted.

We had an amazing time celebrating our future Bride, Mrs. Tramel. Nick was an incredible host and definitely someone I would recommend. 10/10 for sure! My team dominated (red team) but we ALL still left as family! Lol. Will definitely be coming back once I’m back in Houston.

If you’re looking for a fun interactive gaming spot for all ages definitely come to activate games. My friends and I heard rave reviews about this place on TikTok, so we made sure we stop by before we left Houston. When we walked in, the staff was extremely nice and helpful as they explained the games and the rules to us. You’re given wristbands that monitor your scoreboard and how much time you have left based on the package you purchased. Each room has a different style of games that gets you up and active to where you will stay busy for hours lol. I love the different array of gaming styles that you can do in each room and it is fun for everyone. I cannot wait for their South Florida location to open up.
