Raku Sushi In Austin: Detailed Restaurant Review
Located in the middle of West Campus, Raku Sushi is the perfect place to order and enjoy Asian Fusion and Japanese food for takeout. As someone who craves sushi every week, this particular Sushi restaurant holds a special place in my heart.
It is actually dangerous how close in proximity Raku Sushi is to my apartment. In less than thirty minutes I am able to place my order, pick it up, and eat – a must on any Austin foodies list.
Before COVID-19, Raku Sushi was the prime spot for UT students to gather and enjoy delicious sushi and drinks either on weekdays or weekends (especially on Friday and Saturday nights) where everyone would meet up with their friends for dinner or a late-night snack.
Don’t be fooled by the small-scale exterior of this bistro because the inside reveals a variety of tables, booths, and even a second story with more seating options.
But ever since COVID-19, Raku Sushi has taken every safety precaution necessary to ensure protection for all its employees and customers.
Raku Sushi has made the smart and safe decision of prohibiting their dine-in option and only allowing pick up/takeout as their form of service.
It is safe to say that even though they have eliminated the dine-in choice there is still a high demand for their food which makes their business thrive as usual.
Every time I go pick up my order there is usually a line of people waiting outside for their orders as well. Not to mention, the various tables inside the restaurant are covered with ready-to-go takeout bags, and employees rush to cater to customers left and right.
Raku Sushi Ordering Online
My go-to process for ordering from Raku Sushi:
- Visit the website which offers an online ordering menu.
- Select the food items from Raku Sushi’s menu
- Order immediately with the flexibility of choosing a pickup time.
After placing the order, I get an email that my order has been confirmed and from there I wait until it is ready to be picked up.
Whether I am ordering from my apartment on my laptop or from the park on my phone, their website makes it simple to place my order and complete the transaction.
I have ordered so many times from Raku Sushi that I even get monthly emails with coupon codes attached. Lucky for me, I get to enjoy 15% off of my orders each month! At this rate, I should really consider downloading their app.
If you’re not in the mood to walk or drive to Raku Sushi you have the option to get your meal delivered. GrubHub, DoorDash, Uber Eats, Favor, Postmates, and Seamless all have you covered. With the click of a button, you can still enjoy their variety of specialty sushi rolls, yakisoba, ramen, and fried rice without the hassle of having to transport yourself to get it.
My Favorites in Raku Sushi Restaurant
My favorite regular sushi rolls to order whenever I go are the Philly roll and Spicy Tuna roll. There is something about the combination of avocado, cream cheese, and salmon that makes the Philly roll so incredibly delicious.
And it only makes sense to pair it with something spicy on the side so why not indulge in some spicy tuna and cucumber to keep all of your taste buds happy.
When I am feeling a little bit more hungry I will order the UT Flash Fried specialty roll. It is filled with white fish, crab mix, avocado, cream cheese, and Tamago, and topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce.
Not only will this satisfy your hunger but it will also have you want to go back and order it again. You can always pair this fancy roll with a simple order of Salmon Nigiri, just two ingredients and you’re all set.
Now I know these are just a couple of recommendations of what to order from the menu but the options are unlimited and there will always be at least one thing each person will like. I still need to explore their menu more and order something I’ve never tried before.
I know when it comes to sushi everyone has their preferences so be my guest and place your order as soon as possible, you’ll know exactly what to do. With the prices low and the portions big, I assure you, you will not be disappointed with Raku Sushi!
