Our Experience at TenTen Japanese Restaurant

Recently, we had the opportunity to dine at TenTen in downtown Austin. TenTen is a modern Japanese restaurant located on West 6th Street. This restaurant offered a variety of food plate options, giving an exciting experience of wanting to try everything on the menu. You will be exposed to a couple of options on the menu, such as spicy tuna, Kurobata pork belly, hamachi kama, and so much more. A few things to know about TenTen is that they are a great gluten-free and vegan restaurant option. With their happy hours being Monday through Saturday from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, you can get $10 drinks from their signature cocktails, house spirits, and wine menu. At TenTen, you can experience a luxurious experience and relaxing energy with their amazing staff.

The Food

Trying out TenTen’s amazing Japanese plates was definitely one of our favorite things about the whole experience. Our favorite dish was the chicken karaage with the nori honey. It’s filled with flavor and the right-sized portion. To add on for drinks, we ordered the cucumber water, which included rosaluna mezcal, cucumber, melon, shiso, and citrus. Afterwards, we were curious to try the Caesar salad filled with bonito, parmesan, and scallion. The mushroom Maki was another great option, topping it off with curried cauliflower as a plant-based option.

Lastly, we decided to try some of their dessert and picked their matcha crème brûlée. We would highly recommend this for all of the matcha lovers who want a taste of a matcha ice cream with fruit toppings.

Review

When we first arrived at TenTen, the restaurant gave a relaxing atmosphere with a luxurious taste along with the interior design. The dimmed lights make it perfect for anyone who wants to host a gathering, a friend’s night out, or even a date night. You will first be greeted by the host and will witness the bar where you can find yourself enjoying a nice drink, especially during happy hour. You will also have the opportunity to be seated near the kitchen for a more intimate vibe.

Arriving at the restaurant, you will have limited parking, but street parking is always available nearby. You can also do garage parking and take a nice walk to the restaurant for a nice view of downtown Austin.

Final Thoughts

If you are ever willing to explore new dine-in places or are just thinking about your next dinner date or social gathering, I would highly recommend TenTen. You will immediately be greeted by the host and impressed by the luxurious interior. This modern Japanese restaurant was able to provide healthy options with their kitchen being seed oil free. This restaurant also has a variety of vegan-friendly meals. This won’t limit any of your vegan friends, which makes it even better to enjoy for your next visit. With a welcoming atmosphere, you truly do feel comfortable and relaxed, which makes it even better when trying out a new cuisine.
