Musashino Sushi – Detailed Review
With sushi being such a Texas favorite, the search to find the perfect sushi place in Austin can be complicated. Located in between an office and a wedding shop, Musashino Sushi is a hidden gem in a world of lucrative sushi spots. What makes Musashino sushi so different you might ask? Well, It is one of the only sushi spots in Austin that specializes in Edomae Sushi. This term is used to describe sushi that is made with fresh seafood imported directly from Tokyo Bay. Additionally, Musashino Sushi also air freights their ingredients from other seafood hotspots such as Hawaii, New York, and Canada.

The quality of this restaurant is incomparable and their reviews make that clear! If that’s not enough to convince you, one of Austin’s most renowned sushi chefs Tyson Cole started off at Musashino Sushi. Another chef that owes his success to Musashino Sushi is chef Kazu Fukumoto who now owns his own successful restaurant.
Musashino Sushi Menu:
It has one of the most extensive sushi menus in Austin. As you could probably tell by now, Sushi is definitely their specialty. However, the menu doesn’t stop there. What’s a Japanese meal without a classic miso soup? This miso soup is a must-try. Additionally, the sauces at Musashino Sushi Restaurant are the cherry on top to compliment their delicious sushi.

For starters, my personal recommendation would be the Avocado Kama (I’m a big avocado person). This dish consists of a delicious avocado topped with shrimp, imitation crab, and a special spicy sauce. If you’re looking to play it on the safer side, you can’t go wrong with a classic edamame plate. When it comes to the sushi rolls, everyone is on their own. With so many different options and combinations to choose from, it’s nearly impossible to order just one. One of their most popular rolls is the black widow which is a deep-fried soft shell crab, habanero caviar, Japanese mayonnaise & squid ink-infused sushi rice wrapped in seaweed, served with jalapeño soy sauce. Delicious right? Another fan favorite we recommend is the classic Road Runner. If you’re in the mood for something different the SAKE KAMA SHIO YAKI (salmon cheek) comes well recommended by Musashino customers.
