Local Foods Fall Menu
Local Foods recently came out with a fall menu featuring a new chicken caesar wrap, crisp veggies, creamy soups, and handcrafted drinks. We decided to try out these new flavors, and we can say without a doubt that we were blown away. The menu felt very intentionally crafted, balancing aesthetic displays with handcrafted flavors. The atmosphere inside Local Foods added tremendously to the tasting experience: the beautiful plants and artwork that line the walls, the colorful chairs and modern fixtures around the tables and booths, and the faint smell of roasted vegetables and espresso in the air. A cozy fall feeling was felt with every bite, and every dish was filled with colorful, wowing flavors. Needless to say, this new fall menu is a must-try for all foodies.

Chicken Caesar Wrap
The first thing we noticed when we walked into the restaurant was that nearly every person there had ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. The chicken Caesar wrap was by far our favorite dish of all. It consists of chopped roast chicken in a flour tortilla, butter lettuce, and house Caesar dressing with house fries on the side. It was a perfect blend of crunchy and soft, and the flavors came together perfectly.
Fall Harvest Salad
Their fall harvest salad was colorful, hearty, and bursting with autumn flavors. It felt less like a salad and more like a bowl since there were so many different things in it. It’s layered with roasted butternut squash, caramelized cauliflower, red grapes, green beans, beets, and shaved radish, all tossed in a light herb vinaigrette. We added salmon to ours, which was a great choice. The salmon was cooked perfectly and balanced the dish with protein, completing the bowl.
Mediterranean Power Bowl
This bowl is a vibrant mix of roasted broccoli, mushrooms, and peppers layered over a creamy baba ghanoush base and topped with pickled watermelon radish, mint, and microgreens. It’s a perfect, yummy option for those who are gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan.
Butternut Squash Bisque
There’s nothing better than enjoying a cozy, yummy soup on a nice fall day. Served warm in a ceramic mug and topped with candied pumpkin seeds, the butternut squash bisque is a creamy, slightly sweet, and beautifully spiced dish you can curl up with on a chilly day. It was a warm, flavorful add-on to our other dishes.

Crunchy Munchy Brussel Sprouts
As someone who loves Brussels sprouts and has tried them from numerous restaurants, we can confidently say these were perfect. They’re roasted until golden and topped with seeds and herbs that give every bite a nice, flaky texture with deep flavor. These will definitely become our go-to.
Horchata Iced Coffee and Banana Matcha Drink
When we first ordered the horchata iced coffee drink, we didn’t know what to expect, but it quickly became a standout. When it came to the table, we were immediately wowed by its aesthetically pleasing presentation and even more impressed when we tasted it. The blend of cinnamon, rice milk, and espresso, all topped with sweet cream and a lady finger, gives it a cozy fall twist while keeping it refreshing and energizing. The banana matcha balanced a pretty presentation with a flavorful, sweet, and earthy taste. The banana and marshmallow topping adds a creamy twist, making it taste like dessert in a cup. For matcha lovers, this is a must-try.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Local Foods’ modern and alluring atmosphere, accommodating staff, and handcrafted flavors make it such an Austin gem. The new menu embodies the essence of the fall season through its aesthetically pleasing presentations with flavorful, fresh ingredients. Every dish was unique and gave a different feeling and experience with each bite, but they all shared an intentional vibe that makes simple food feel special. From the cozy, creamy Butternut Squash Bisque to the refreshing Horchata Iced Coffee that tastes like dessert and caffeine heaven, we were constantly impressed throughout the entire meal. We 10/10 recommend this new menu to everyone!
