Hot Summer Nights 2025

Hot Summer Nights 2025 brought three epic nights of live music, food, and community vibes to Austin’s Red River Cultural District. The festival showcased tons of local artists across some of Austin’s most iconic venues and bars, including Barbarella, Stubb’s, Marlow, and more. Not only did it give local artists a chance to show off their amazing talents, but it also spotlighted local businesses through the Hot Summer Nights Market. We kicked off the festival at Chess Club with an unforgettable VIP Kickoff Party and explored several featured venues to catch incredible performances. Let’s dive into the festival and what made this year’s Hot Summer Nights one of the best yet!

Atmosphere

From the kickoff party to the venues, the atmosphere was incredibly lively and welcoming. Every fan and attendee showed so much support for each artist and local business, creating an amazing environment at every stop. Standing in the middle of it all, you could truly feel the energy in the air. It felt like a celebration of Austin’s vibrant community, bringing people together to support one another in the heart of the city.

With artists across the lineup representing a wide range of genres, from indie and rock to hip-hop and electronic, there was something for every music lover to enjoy. Whether you were dancing at Barbarella, vibing out at Stubb’s, or discovering a new favorite act at Marlow, every moment was packed with energy, passion, and a love for local music.

Live Music

Hot Summer Nights features a wide variety of local artists performing at multiple venues across the city. The festival was created to provide paid opportunities and well-deserved recognition for Austin’s talented local musicians. During our visit, we had the chance to check out Stubb’s Bar-B-Q and Empire to experience some of that incredible local talent firsthand.

At Empire, we caught Elijah Delgado and his band, who absolutely lit up the stage. Delgado performed several of his original songs, and his vocals and lyrics were truly outstanding. The crowd was captivated by his performance, he brought an energy and authenticity that made him the perfect artist to help kick off the festival. At Stubb’s, we saw the band Boomershack, and the crowd was completely in love with their performance. Their music style and flow rocked the venue, and we thoroughly enjoyed every moment of their set.

Food & Drinks

The festival is sponsored by a variety of brands, including Airbnb, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, and Beatbox. During the VIP Kickoff Party at Chess Club, guests were treated to a curated menu featuring signature drinks from these sponsors. Tito’s made a standout impression with the Red River Classic, Hot Summer Mule, and the Red Hot Shirley, each offering its own unique flavor profile, whether you were craving something sweet or something with a bit more kick. And of course, it wouldn’t be Hot Summer Nights without that Texas heat, so the festival also served up Beatbox Frozen Party Punch, a refreshing, flavorful drink perfect for cooling off while jamming out to live music.

The Red River Cultural District is already known for its variety of food trucks and local eats, but during the festival, popular spots like Stubb’s Bar-B-Q, Hoboken Pie, Marlow, and Pelóns Tex-Mex offered special festival discounts, including $3 cheese slices, 10% off barbecue, and more, making it easy to grab a tasty bite between sets.
