Best Brunch Spots to Visit in Austin with Hyundai Santa Cruz

January 21, 2022

We’ve partnered up with Hyundai to launch their new 2022 Santa Cruz and take ya’ll to some of our must visit brunch spots in Austin! First off, this car is definitely designed to safely navigate Austin traffic. With Hyundai’s SmartSense (Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist and Smart Cruise Control), we were able to easily get to each restaurant with no issues on the road. Their Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist also allowed us to get out of tight parking spaces with limited rear visibility safely.

We were really impressed with all the technological features available in the Santa Cruz, especially the adaptive cruise control. Our car was able to maintain a safe distance from the car ahead without us having to turn off or reset the cruising speed. Another detail we loved is the style and comfort of the vehicle. The Santa Cruz offers a sleek and modern interior with plenty of space to seat our friends. This is definitely our go-to car for cruising around the city or driving out to explore places outside of Austin.

Rosedale Kitchen

The atmosphere was really comforting with music and chatter during brunch hours. We enjoyed sitting in the interior dining room by the window, but would love to come back when the weather is warmer to dine on the outdoor patio. Some of the items we recommend ordering are the Pastry Board, Benedict Your Way (with beef cheeks), and Ricotta Texas Toast.

Rosedale’s Pastry Board features a selection of their baked goods – poptart, housemade bread, and biscuits. Our favorite pastry was the orange marmalade poptart. It had a crumbly crust with a tangy, citrus, filling. We also enjoyed the pumpkin bread and the biscuits with butter and jam. If you have never had beef cheeks before, you have to order Benedict Your Way with beef cheeks at Rosedale. It was our first time trying beef cheeks and we were amazed at how delicious it tasted with the creaminess of the egg yolk and the acidity of the pickled red onions on top of a buttery english muffin.

Another must try item is the Ricotta Texas Toast which is Rosedale’s take on a french toast. The cranberry blueberry mezcal compote paired perfectly with the creaminess of the ricotta and bananas. The challah bread and honey added a bit of sweetness and the pistachio crumble added a nice touch of crunch. While we were here, we also tried the RKB Breakfast Burger and the Rosedale Avocado Toast which were both equally delicious.

Bird Bird Biscuit

We were lucky enough to find street side parking during Bird Bird Biscuit’s morning rush and were able to get in and out of our parking spot safely using the Santa Cruz’s Rear Cross-Traffic collision Avoidance Assist.

Since Bird Bird Biscuit is currently working on an advanced ordering/pick up model, we would recommend placing your order online and skipping the wait. In terms of what to order, we would recommend ordering the Firebird, the Queen Beak, and the Dough-Doughs. The Firebird is definitely for those who love the burn. Paired with a buttery biscuit and sweet pickles, it was perfect. If you’re a fan of spicy and sweet flavors, you should try the Queen Beak. The cayenne black pepper honey goes so well with the fried chicken and chipotle mayo. Another item we ordered was the Dough-Doughs! They have the texture of a donut hole and the flavor of a churro. We would definitely come back to pick up another order for an at home brunch.

The Peached Tortilla

Our first impression was the colorful interior, upbeat music, and chatter throughout the restaurant. It’s a great place to grab brunch with friends, but make sure to make a reservation beforehand because it was packed. We started off brunch with the BBQ Pork Buns and it was delicious. The braised pork belly was so tender and went so well with the crunchy cucumbers and Chinese BBQ sauce. For the main course, we would recommend ordering the Short Rib Benedict or the Brisket Hash. The gochugaru hollandaise sauce in the Short Rib Benedict added a bit of heat and tasted amazing with the short ribs. We also really enjoyed the different textures and flavors of this dish.

The Brisket Hash is definitely a must try. We loved tasting the different flavors in this dish. In each bite, you’ll get a bit of smokiness from the brisket, saltiness from the kimchi miso corn, and sweetness from the sweet potatoes. For those who have a sweet tooth, we would recommend the Whipped Nutella Toast. The milk bread was so fluffy and had a crispy crust. The mousse had a light chocolate hazelnut flavor and had the perfect amount of sweetness. The fresh berries on top added a nice touch of tartness to each bite. We will definitely be back for another brunch.
