Arlo Grey: Anniversary Week Menu Review
Emmy-nominated host Chef Kristen Kish and her team celebrated the seven-year anniversary of her restaurant, Arlo Grey at The LINE in Austin, with a new specialty menu featuring delicious food, signature cocktails, and mouthwatering desserts. Arlo Grey opened its doors in 2018 and has featured Kish’s creative vision to visitors and the Austin community over the last few years. This four-day celebration showcased Kish’s culinary artistry once again with each dish and cocktail serving as a work of art that not only has an amazing taste but an outstanding presentation that captures the eye.

Atmosphere
The atmosphere of the restaurant is perfect for any date or special celebration. As you wait for the next round of entrées, candlelit tables, dimmed lighting, and stunning lakeside views fully immerse you in a fine dining experience. Each table is perfectly set, with utensils arranged to complement each course and a beautifully designed menu. The staff’s warm, helpful, and lighthearted personalities elevate the ambiance even further. If you are unfamiliar with the menu or having trouble deciding, the staff will gladly walk you through each dish or cocktail, thoroughly explaining the ingredients to help you come to a final decision.

Drinks
The restaurant’s cocktails are the perfect way to start your dinner. There are three drinks on the menu that stood out the most and tasted amazing. The first is the Love Bug, a fresh strawberry-hibiscus cocktail bursting with flavor and perfectly balancing sweetness and alcohol. Following the berry trend, the Flor De Fogo combines a berry shrub with Topo Chico, delivering a sweet, sparkling flavor reminiscent of a bright, berry-infused limeade. The next cocktail was quite literally a sunset in your mouth. The Jeju Sunset is a peach cocktail with hallabong citrus. The amount of flavor in this drink was outstanding; with every sip, you could taste each component, creating a wonderful combination.

Entrées
It wouldn’t be the perfect anniversary week without amazing new things to try! Each of the dishes was served family-style and was easy to share so everyone could get a bite. For starters, the AG Sourdough with Burrata was the perfect way to dive into the meal. Topped with melon and served with an ’Nduja dressing, this combo along with an amazing cocktail, made for a great appetizer. After a great appetizer, it was time for course two: Crispy Rice and Lobster Tortelloni. Each tortelloni not only had incredible flavor on its own but was packed with the freshest lobster and dressed in bisque to pack in as much flavor as possible. Moving on to the Crispy Rice, the bacon in this dish stood out the most with its bold and intense flavor. Add in the crab, cucumber, and saffron aioli, and this combination created a rich, balanced bite. Now, for the final entrée to tie everything together: the Wagyu Beef Rib. This protein-based entrée was dressed in a sweet and flavorful sauce and was salted to perfection. It was served with Barton Springs Mill Blue Cornbread, which paired perfectly with the rib. These dishes were the best way to celebrate Arlo Grey’s anniversary, but it wouldn’t be a celebration without dessert! Also part of the anniversary week menu, the Banana “Pudding” was the perfect way to end the meal. This dessert was a vanilla sponge cake topped with Chantilly cream and hazelnuts. This take on banana pudding was unique yet tasty, and it was perfect for sharing with a friend and wrapping up the evening.

Final Thoughts
Although anniversary week is over, Arlo Grey continues to serve the most amazing dishes. From that first sip of the Love Bug all the way to the Banana “Pudding” every part of this celebration is something to remember. If you have something special to celebrate or are just celebrating life itself, Arlo Grey is the perfect spot to do so. Make your reservations soon and get ready for a fine dining experience that’s truly worth savoring.
