Here is a list of the 10 best hidden dining spots in Dallas that you must try for an authentic taste and vibe of the Lone Star State.
Carmine’s Pizza Downtown is a hidden gem restaurant serving authentic New York-style pizza in Dallas. I love their Famous White Pizza, served with homemade white sauce, which speaks for its authenticity as their Star NY-style Pizza.
Their designer pizzas, like the Meat Lover’s and Margherita, are crowd favorites baked perfectly with a crisp crust and reasonably priced, generous portions.
The other items in the Italian entrees menu offer generous options like spaghetti with meatballs and beef lasagna, served with fresh bread.
Don’t skip this place if you want a cozy, no-frills atmosphere and friendly, quick service. Whether dining in or grabbing takeout, this under-the-shadow Dallas restaurant delivers quality and flavor with simple, to-the-book NY Pizza.
Note: A must-visit place if you are craving authentic NY-style pizza with a trivia night and karaoke sessions.

This is the real deal! An authentic, delicious pizza place with incredible service and atmosphere. I'll be back.
I needed a bite after riding around on a scooter with the JFK self guided tour from In City Wheels when i stumbled upon this gem. Great pizza shop atmosphere, slices of pizza in 2 mins. Delicious thin slices. Perfect way to finish a tour in Dallas.
Great pizza for the price! Perfect for lunch in the middle of a workday! They have other good selections too, not only pizza!

Stan’s Blue Note is a lesser-known restaurant that offers a lively sports bar experience in Greenville Ave, Dallas.
With over 50 beers on tap and a half-pound menu of Lit burgers and sandwiches, this spot offers a slightly pricier menu, with burgers starting at $12. However, the serving size is enough for one person.
The space is packed with TVs, making it perfect for game nights, while trivia and karaoke nights add to the fun. It’s a great spot to enjoy a college or sports-themed casual vibe, along with an exceptional bar wall and excellent service.
Must try their hot dogs and tacos (Monday special), cold brews, shuffleboard, and live events. They offer a $4.99 burger Tuesday deal for half-pound burgers (with drink purchase and dine-in only).

This is a great sports bar. Atmosphere is younger college crowd but all is welcome. The owner even makes the rounds and makes sure everyone is having fun! I will definitely be back. And it’s a perfect place to watch the game!
This is one of the coolest places in Dallas, no, Texas! It's the epitome of a dive bar, but the food is awesome, and there is an incredible selection of beers on tap. TVs are everywhere, and they're very accommodating on finding what you want to watch.
Stan’s Blue Note is the rare entertainment dive bar that gets a flat out five star rating. Staff was truly wonderful, welcoming, kind, and hilarious. The prices were reasonable. The AC was kicking and it was very comfortable. They had plenty of bar games, shuffleboard, and a lot of space to spread out. Both front and back patios were comfortable.

Smithy on Henderson is a sophisticated hidden culinary gem in Dallas’s Knox-Henderson area with an airy gastropub atmosphere.
Their menu features locally sourced food items like the Crab Nachos, which are praised for their lightness and flavor, and the Tots Poutine, which is known for its hearty uniqueness. They also source local beers to bring you the finest beverages from Texas.
Their pizza and pasta menu is a fan favorite, and the prices are very reasonable, which is surprising for such a fine location offering such high-quality food cooked to perfection with exceptional service, start to finish.
The ambiance blends late-night speakeasy vibes, making this chef-inspired restaurant perfect for casual outings and special occasions.

Smithy! 10 out of 10! My girlfriend & i recently stopped in for bite & it was great! I Highly recommend Smithy! Great drinks & great food! Our server Kai provided stellar customer service! It's a must try!
Went here for Brunch on New Year’s Day and had a great experience. I ordered the tots poutine and it, as well as everything our table ordered, was delicious. Service was fast and pleasant from the host to our wonderful server Andrew. We will definitely be back!
Andrew was very helpful and kind. The place is great. Food was very good. Nice ambiance. My husband and I really enjoyed our dinner night out. Will be back!

Burger House is my go-to secret spot for fast food cravings in Dallas. It’s known for its classic old-fashioned burgers and signature seasoned fries.
Their menu features a variety of burgers, from the must-try Classic Hamburger to the hearty Triple Cheeseburger, all cooked to perfection with authentic flavors.
Their Fish nuggets, breaded chicken tenders, and fries, sprinkled with their famous seasoning (a blend of garlic powder, salt, pepper, and other natural spices), are a must-try and are appreciated by locals for their good taste, texture, and serving size.
My favorites are their OG burger with a thin patty and their magic seasoning.
You can’t skip their thick, handmade shakes in flavors like chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, and cherry. The menu is highly budget-friendly, with decent-sized burgers starting from $5.
With a welcoming, nostalgic atmosphere and friendly service, Burger House is a perfect alternative if you are tired of mainstream fast food chains.
Note: Drive-thru and kids’ menu available.

Much Better than a fast food burguer! Ask always for the double patty. Good seasoned fries
Delicious, friendly, quick and they have root beer! Ordered three burger, fries, onion rings. My kids and myself were very impressed. Very accessible, eat indoor, outdoor or take to go like us. We will definitely be back for done more burgers.
First time at the Burger House and it was great. When you arrive you can tell this place is a Dallas staple. Always busy, great burgers and the tater tots were perfect. It was fun eating in their small space by the kitchen and made it feel very NYC.

Latin Deli is a hidden foodie spot in Dallas, serving authentic Latin flavors by Fernando, the owner from Mexico City.
Unlike mainstream Tex-Mex, the menu focuses on high-quality, flavorful dishes with a beautiful presentation. Their Tripleta sandwich is packed with perfectly seasoned meats, while the Chilaquiles Verdes deliver the right balance of crunch and spice.
Breakfast options are impressive and even the coffee gets high praise from regular visitors.
The menu is overpriced for sandwiches, but it’s worth it to experience good Latin-style, individually prepared sandwiches with efficient service and a cozy atmosphere. This restaurant is perfect for casual daytime cravings or lunch breaks.

A hidden gem, great selection of food a bit everything for everyone! 100% recommend. The patio is very welcoming. I had Fer’s Cheesesteak, it was great! Fries are real good as well! Will definitely be coming back!
I never write reviews but oh my god. The chicken sandwich was the best sandwich i’ve ever had in my life. I also tried my friends tuna sandwich and it was to die for. Their fries are super crispy and seasoned great. Im genuinely still in shock and awe. The owner personally came and talked to us and offered us a sample of the corn pastry such a sweet dude and he deserves all the business and love.
Small little hole in the wall with minimal seating, but there is an outdoor patio. The food is amazing. You can't go wrong no matter what you order. The service is also top notch.

Midnight Rambler is a subterranean cocktail lounge nestled within The Joule Hotel in downtown Dallas. Set up and maintained by award-winning bartender Gabe Sanchez, it’s my usual hangout place for an after-dinner weekend drink.
Their innovative cocktail menu offers delights such as their $16 “Velvet,” featuring cacao butter fat-washed tequila, and the $14 “Standing-Room Only,” a vodka-based concoction with sour cherry lime cordial, bit pricier but worth having.
The bar’s warm, gilded ambiance is complemented by live DJ performances on weekends, creating an atmosphere that transports guests to another place and time.
The bartenders put all their effort into making you feel valued, and for a more customized and private experience, you can book for private parties, accommodating groups of 12 to full buyouts (email events@thejouledallas.com).

Incredible cocktail experience hidden in the Joule hotel. The bartenders were able to craft everything on their menu and also improvise well. Would stop on my next Dallas trip.
Midnight Shamblers in Dallas is a must-visit for those seeking a Texas-inspired cocktail experience that blends Southern charm with avant-garde mixology. The dimly lit, vintage-inspired space sets the stage for a menu that’s both bold and playful, featuring standout drinks like the Midnight Raider, a tart and briny vodka-citrus creation, and the Roadside BBQ Manhattan, infused with Terry Black’s brisket for a rich, smoky twist. Whether you’re a cocktail aficionado or just looking for a great night out, Midnight Shamblers delivers an experience as unapologetically Texan as it is unforgettable.
Midnight Rambller is a good place for a classic cocktail. I got an old fashioned which was pretty standard in price. There are some adventurous options on the menu as well. The lady who served us was nice. I don't hang out downtown often, but I will definitely need to revisit this place whenever I'm downtown again.

Inside The Joule Hotel, CBD Provisions is a modern Texas brasserie known for its Berkshire Pig Head Carnitas and inventive cocktails by Gabe Sanchez.
This warm, stylish Texas brasserie features historic brick walls and reclaimed wood interior, perfect for business dinners or casual dining.
I go for their Berkshire Pig Head Carnitas, Pimento Cheese Toast, and the CBD Cheeseburger (inspired by the In-N-Out burger).
The service is top-notch, and the cocktail menu keeps visitors coming back. One thing that makes this hidden Dallas eatery stand out and attract a crowd is its premium stacks menu for dinner.
As the name suggests, the prices are also way premium, but you can’t afford to skip their Cowboy Ribeye ($75) and Tomahawk Ribeye ($179).
The touch of southern hospitality in their service makes the overall experience second to none.
Note: Reservations are recommended for larger parties.

Came here on a weekend with my fiancé for brunch and Oscar was our bartender. He made us feel very welcomed and we were throughly impressed with his drink knowledge + talent. I had the benedict with house potatoes and it was perfect. Oscar surprised us with an off menu item - a Coca Cola with espresso - best drink I’ve had in a while! Top notch service, will definitely be back.
Had a reservation at 5:30 we showed up earlier and they got us right in. The food and atmosphere perfection as well as the service. They had complimentary valet parking which made it so easy. We had the filet, corn, butter lettuce, deviled eggs, and beef tallow fries all with an amazing truffle butter. The cocktails were also amazing. Perfect spot for an early dinner with the girls.
Tuna nachos are spicy, but oh so good! Same with the spicy mango cocktail. The vibe on a Friday afternoon was quiet at the bar.

Dairy-Ette is a 1956 diner run by the third generation. This secret eatery in Dallas serves classic curbside and diner-style meals.
It’s a perfect place to be for burger treats that are delicious and friendly on the pocket. I prefer this no-hassle, simple spot for casual dining and friendly staff.
Their $5 Cheese Burger is mouthwatering and is recommended by regular visitors alongside fresh-cut fries, hand-dipped corn dogs, and crispy onion rings.
Their homemade root beer, served in frosty mugs, is a must-try. The burgers and sandwiches have a decent serving portion per person considering the pricing.
The laitback vibe brings back nostalgia at this family-owned establishment tucked away in a hidden spot with timeless experience for those looking to dine inside at retro booths or enjoy carhop service.
Tip: Don’t skip their House-Made Root Beer and crispy, golden Onion Rings.

A classic Drive-In with a dine-in choice. It has been on Dallas Observers "Best of" list, several times. 70 years in business, so you would think they must be doing something right, and they are. Very good service and food. The prices are on point.
I’ve been a customer since 1963 A throwback to the 1950’s drive in burger joint with car hops. It remains unchanged and eating great food in your car is a must experience. Try the homemade root beer. Bryan Adams HS and Bishop Lynch alumni know it well.
Stoped by Dairy-Ette for first time in a long time and frosty home made root beer in a cold Mug was amazing. Went with the usual cheeseburger and fries and at at the counter. This place still pumps out delicious cheeseburger and fries after 55+ years. Diamond in the ruff still going strong plus you could pull up in Car Hop as an option.

Al Kabob Grill & Cafe is a small Indo-Pak diner in an Asian trading market, renowned for its authentic flavors and generous portions. Their standout dishes that everyone likes include:
- Beef Chapli Kabob
- Homestyle Chicken Kadahi
- Flavors and spices rich Beef Biryani
Their curries and fresh naan are a must-try, with a bold taste and no unnecessary, overwhelming heat. The pricing is very cheap, and the food is delicious.
The curries are enough to be shared between a group of two with Naan and drinks. The helpings are on the generous side as well.

Tied the goat kabab, chapli kabab, chicken 65, pizza, kheer. Food was flavorful desi taste. Also a paan shop inside.
One among my favorite indian restaurants in dallas. It is a small place but their food is good. Update: Went there after couple of years. Place is still packed all the time just like old times. Meaning food is still really good! I had mutton pulao and it was really delicious.
Really good Indian food. As soon as I walked in the restaurant I felt like I was in India. Good service. The spicy chicken biryani was packed with flavor and had good spice. Was loaded well with chicken.

Lounge Here is the last spot on our list of hidden gem restaurants in Dallas. The establishment is tucked away in a hidden spot just off Garland Road and offers a cozy, retro-inspired ambiance perfect for date nights or gatherings with friends.
The decor reminds me of 1970s airport lounges, featuring low-slung, tan, tufted banquettes and a photo mural of the Marfa landscape.
I would recommend you not to neglect these 3 items on their menu to keep returning:
- Deviled Eggs
- Chicken Fried Ribeye
- Here Burger
Lounge Here attracts crowds due to its upscale cocktails and creative, noteworthy cuisine. The ambiance, food, and attentive service make it an A+ secret dining spot in Dallas. You can ask for several vegetarian items from their budget-friendly menu.
Note: Parking can be challenging. The restaurant also accepts reservations. Plan ahead for potential wait times for group parties, especially during peak hours.

Lounge Here was an amazing, spontaneous date night for my boyfriend and I. This place is totally unassuming and a wonderful vibe. Maddy, the manager, took great care of us. The cocktails were interesting and fun. I ordered the BBB and loved it. DO NOT SKIP the mussels, they were the best I have ever had!
My fiancé & I had been at another restaurant nearby having cocktails with friends. Since we’re from South Texas we decided we didn’t want to call it a night yet & turned it into a date night. This place was just down the street from where we were & had the serene romantic atmosphere we were looking for.
I've gone here about 5 times now and every appetizer I've had has been delicious! The highlight is tied between the refreshing cocktails and the environment. If you've never been, it's totally unexpected. It's hard to find but that's what makes it even more special. A hidden treasure in it's shipping center. The service is usually good but there was one day that the service was not Great....and luckily I had been there before to know this was unusual.
