Gabriela Bucio’s Establishments (Restaurants and Nightclubs)

taquero mucho

Taquero Mucho is a Mexican restaurant with a pink theme and famous pink tortilla tacos. It has a fun, feminine vibe, making it a great place for Instagram photos.

With two locations in Austin, one being downtown and the second on Burnet Rd for more pink madness! The second Taquero mucho was made by request to expand the business.

Gabriela’s intention behind the Taquero Mucho restaurant was for women to feel appreciated and empowered once they walked in.

She felt like the Latinx community wasn’t represented as much downtown, and she knew that she wanted to become that representation.

Some of the popular menu items would include their pink tacos which come with two tacos per order with a side of beans and rice. You can never go wrong with their popular chips and queso with the Pollo asado tacos.

They also provide the cutest drinks, some of them being the pink margarita clasica, with other non-alcoholic drinks as well.

gabriela’s downtown

Another Instagramable restaurant known as Gabrielas is located in downtown Austin, and its second location is in South Austin.

Gabriela’s in South Austin was another expansion to customers who can have easy access coming from nearby cities to the south area of Austin.

Her downtown location is perfect for outdoor seating, especially on the weekends with live Latin music. Their huge outdoor patio makes it perfect for small or large gatherings while being dog-friendly.

You can find yourself enjoying their modern Mexican dishes with aesthetic margarita drinks!

Gabriela’s Downtown was the first restaurant she opened, not thinking that she would end up expanding her brand all over the city.

The Mexican dishes that she incorporates into her businesses are dishes that she was raised on.

Her inspiration for the restaurant was to show a representation of who she is. A lot of the neon signs represent a vibrant, fun vibe while prioritizing that Hispanic touch.

Some must-try popular dishes would be their birria tacos and the queso flameado.

seareinas

Seareinas restaurant is known for its seafood and fun live music, known as banda. It’s a perfect dine-in restaurant with performances by Mexican artists.

The intention of this restaurant was to incorporate a feminine touch since most seafood places usually represent a captain or pirate.

The mermaid on the logo of this restaurant is a representation of that feminine energy. You would start to notice that a lot of her businesses are female friendly making it important to show a diverse environment.

The vibe can be a nightclub with an enjoyment of drinks and live music on stage. You may be wondering what kind of dishes they would provide.

They offer one of their signature dishes, bacon poppers, with other popular dishes like shrimp ceviche, mariscos, and mango sushi.

For drinks, you can’t forget their aesthetic micheladas and premium Mexican beers. Seareina’s offers takeout options, making it easier to enjoy their dishes wherever you desire.

mala vida

Going over to East 6th Street we have one of the hottest Latin nightclubs. Mala Vida was opened in 2019 while being recognized for the aesthetic of its LED atmosphere.

Some of those LED signs, like their popular Bad Bunny and pink-themed signs, are perfect for some fun pictures.

In past events, they have hosted live performances from well-known artists in the Hispanic community. They have also done themed events such as Bad Bunny Night, Frikitona College Night, and Thursday Frikitona.

You will recognize this nightclub as a way to enjoy some drinks, dancing, and listening to music.

Mala Vida also has a top-floor section with more drinks and music for you to enjoy.

Gabriela wanted to get into the entertainment industry by opening nightclubs because she felt that Latinos should celebrate their culture.

This has been a great way for Latinos to listen to Latin music and unite downtown Austin.

One of the newest nightclubs opened in 2023, known as Mala Fama is located on a rooftop joined with live Mexican music known as Banda.

It is also known to be covered with cute aesthetic LED signs making it perfect for a fun night. The vibe of this nightclub is described as vibrant with long pink trees.

Gabriela decided to open this nightclub due to Mala Vida becoming too crowded. She saw it as an opportunity to reach more people due to the long lines at Mala Vida.

Some popular drinks over at Mala Fama are their palomas cocktails with a chamoy and Tajin rim.

During their live performances, a Mexican band would interact with the crowd making it a memorable experience.

Mala Fama is also known for their event hostings similar to Mala Vida like, psycho Thursdays, gatita Tuesdays, and Fresa Fridays.

The main venue is indoor while the rooftop patio will host live music. If you’re ever looking for an outdoor nightclub vibe, Mala Fama could be the right fit for you.

mala vida

This Latin club is primarily known for its live musical performances. It is more of a music venue where they host frequent musical performances from Hispanic artists.

Gabriela had the intention of having the Latino community enjoy Latin regional music at a venue. She owns Mala Santa along with her brother Arturo Bucio.

This is a place to authentically show a reflection of the music of the Hispanic culture. The name of the club translates to “Bad Woman”, and most of their events are announced through their social media such as Facebook and Instagram.

This gives the Latino community a variety of options to choose from when deciding where to party.

Generally, this nightclub/ music venue would be more of a different aesthetic from Mala Fama and Mala Vida. This only reaches a wider audience with different options of fun.
