Houston Sports Awards 2023

The Houston Sports Awards are a yearly event that recognizes the top athletes and teams in the Houston area. This year, the awards ceremony was held at the Wortham Center and was emceed by Houston Astros third basemen Alex Bregman.

The night began with a purple carpet reception, where athletes, coaches, and fans mingled and took photos. The awards ceremony itself was a star-studded event, with many of Houston’s top athletes in attendance.

The evening’s big winner was Houston Astros shortstop Yordan Alvarez, who took home the Athlete of the Year award. Jordan had a phenomenal season in 2022, leading the team to the World Series and hitting the iconic home run in game 6 that will live on in our memories for eternity.

Another notable award went to the Dusty Baker who was named Coach of the Year.

In addition to these awards, there were also honors for coaches, high school athletes, and community leaders. The night was a celebration of Houston’s athletic achievements and a reminder of the incredible talent that calls this city home.

Overall, it was a night to remember for Houston sports fans.  We can’t wait to see what the next year brings for Houston sports.
