The Making of Arrowhead Stadium

The Arrowhead Stadium was built from 1968 to 1972, a part of the Truman Sports Complex, a venue that hosts both the Arrowhead and Kaufman Stadium in Kansas City Missouri.

It was designed by Charles Dean, an architect that had a goal of creating a very fan-friendly design. The stadium has many sweeping curves and spiral ramps throughout. The entire build scoops into an oval/bowl like shape, giving all fans a great view no matter where you are sitting.

The stadium was initially planned to have a roof but was never built, but the $43 million project was completed in 1972 with the first Chiefs game happening that year on July 11th. The stadium was renovated in 2010 putting $375 million into updating the features and creating more premium club spaces.
