Girl Scout Cookie Ranking

It is officially the start of Girl Scout Cookie season, which feels like a holiday for many who are cookie enthusiasts. The second the cookie boxes start showing up, I know I will be getting more than just one box. This year, I decided to rank some of my personal favorite cookie flavors including Caramel Delights, Lemonades, Thin Mints, Shortbread and the newest addition to the lineup: ExploreMores. After a very serious taste test and a lot of milk, here is my official ranking.

#1: Caramel deLites

This was never up for debate. Caramel Delights are easily the best Girl Scout Cookie and easily a fan favorite for a reason. Caramel Delights have everything from texture to flavor and creates a perfect balance that cannot be beat. The toasted coconut, the gooey caramel, and the chocolate drizzle all work so perfectly together. There is a little crunch, a bit of chewiness, and a whole lot of flavor in every bite. These are the cookies that disappear the fastest, no matter how many boxes you buy. Caramel delights will always be my top favorite and be the first restock of cookie season.

#2: ExploreMores

The ExploreMores are officially the newest cookie to the spread and have already hit the number two spot in my ranking list . ExploreMores are super rich and chocolatey, almost like a smore in cookie form, with marshmallow and almond crème sandwiched in the middle which makes it feel extra indulgent. I personally love a sandwich cookie and this may be the best of its kind.

#3: Lemonades

For spot #3 I have decided on Lemonades.. Not everyone reaches for them first, but they should. Lemonades are underrated, but if you know you know. They’re bright, fresh, and just the right amount of sweet without being overwhelming. The lemon icing on the bottom gives the cookie a tangy kick that makes you keep going back for another one. These are perfect when you want something lighter and if you enjoy a citrus flavored cookie. They are the best when eaten in the warm weather and definitely deserve more praise.

#4: Thin Mints

Next up we have the famous thin mints at #4. I know this could be a controversial spot, but I do have my reasons for the placement. Thin mints are obviously so good and of course there’s a reason they’re iconic. The chocolate and mint combo is classic, and they’re even better frozen, which automatically gives them bonus points. But compared to the top three, they just don’t have as much going on in terms of texture or complexity. I’ll always eat them, I’ll always enjoy them, but they’re not the first box I’m reaching for.

#5: Shortbread

Shortbread cookies are last but are certainly not least. They’re simple, buttery, and comforting, and there’s definitely a place for them in my heart. Growing up this was the flavor my mom bought the most, so I now still need my fix when it comes time for Girl Scout Cookie season.

Final Thoughts

Girl Scout Cookies season has become a staple in many people’s homes for good reason. Even the ones at the bottom of the ranking are still worth eating and finishing the box. There are many cookie flavors I still need to try and I look forward to seeing if my top spot of Caramel Delights will ever waver. As of now, I feel they will always keep the number one spot, but maybe spots two through five could be up for debate. Make sure to support your local girl scouts and get a box of these delicious cookies!
