The Meteor on South Congress

During my recent visit to the vibrant South Congress neighborhood, known as SoCo. This neighborhood stands out as a vibrant area renowned for its unique blend of culinary delights, shopping, and cultural experiences. While walking around the area you will be surrounded by unique murals, coffee shops, and local shops that you cannot miss. I had the opportunity to stop by the Meteor Cafe, a unique gem that seamlessly blends the essence of Austin into one space. This Cafe is located at 2110 South Congress Ave.

Meteor Cafe

As I stepped into the cafe, I was immediately greeted by an inviting atmosphere that perfectly captures the city’s laid-back yet lively spirit. The vibes were incredibly chill, creating the perfect setting for an amazing early dinner or study date. The Meteor Cafe offers an impressive selection of over 400 natural wines, each with its own story and flavor. Additionally, the cafe serves sourdough pizzas, all-day coffee, and a variety of beers. But the Meteor Cafe is more than just its menu. It uniquely houses a bike shop, symbolizing Austin’s love for both culinary delights and outdoor adventures.

The Menu

During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying their Caesar Salad, which was fresh and flavorful. They offered a variety of salads such as the ¨The Meteor Logical Bowl¨ that consists of lettuce, rice, avocado, carrot, and a lemon garlic tahini sauce, and a Shawarma Bowl! The Falafel sandwich was a delightful surprise, and they also had a yummy Meteor Burger if you are more of a carnivore. This amazing place also has a variety of pizzas to choose from.

My dining companion loved the Meatier Pizza, a carnivore’s dream topped with smoky bacon, savory sausage, spicy pepperoni, and a generous helping of cheese. Patio snacks and yummy pastries are also part of their menu. I loved the Chocolate Chip cookie mostly because of the gooey chocolate chips that melted in my mouth.

Closing Thoughts

I would definitely go back to try their “Best-of-Market Salad¨ that is made up of local lettuce, carrots and radish, sunflower, sesame, and pepitas with sherry lemon vinaigrette. I am really looking forward to having a girls night at their outdoor patio during their happy hour any day of the week between 4 and 6PM with a few wine glasses, a charcuterie board, and more chocolate chip cookies.

The Meteor Cafe is a must-visit for anyone looking to immerse themselves in the classic Austin experience. It’s a place where food, wine, and culture come together, offering a taste of the city’s charm. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by for an unforgettable culinary adventure!
