As I approached Industry, I was welcomed by a patio filled with cozy lounge chairs and tables for outdoor dining. Stepping inside, I noticed that the restaurant resembles a classic sports bar, complete with TVs mounted on every wall and long tables to accommodate any group size. For those seeking a more intimate experience, I recommend sitting at the bar seats.

As nighttime falls upon the city, the restaurant’s large windows open up, bringing in an evening breeze and creating a more lively, fresh atmosphere. Industry also provides a variety of games and live music for their customers, making it a fun and casual place for all. Industry is also pet friendly, so bring the family and the pumps down for a great night out.

Dining Experience

At Industry, you have two options for ordering; 1. Ordering up front at the cash register before sitting down at your table or 2. Scanning a QR code at your table of choice and paying on your phone. This was refreshing to see in a restaurant and made it so that I could customize my experience according to how I was feeling that day. I went with a friend and we ordered two appetizers, two mains, two drinks, and one dessert to get the full Industry experience.

Starters & Drinks

We started our meal with the Loaded Green Chile Queso and Crispy Brussels sprouts. The queso was creamy and packed a mild kick thanks to the chiles and jalapenos inside. Since we opted to get it loaded, it also came with shredded brisket and avocado. The brisket added a depth of smokiness and the avocado cut the decadentness of the cheese and brought a fresh flavor to the dish. Coated in a bourbon-dijon glaze, the Brussels was packed with a sweet and smoky flavor and lived up to its name by providing a satisfying crunch with every bite.

To accompany our meal, we decided to take a look at the drink menu, which features an assortment of signature cocktails, beers, wines, local drafts, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. My friend chose a local draft, the Zilker Icy Boy, which arrived ice-cold, perfect for balancing out the rich flavors of our meal. I chose to try the Pool Floaty draft cocktail – a refreshing citrus drink infused with classic summer flavors like cucumber and peach. Both drinks were a great way to cool down, which is something that always is needed in the Texas summer.

Main Course

As we moved on to the entrees, we wanted to try the best of what Industry had to offer, so I asked the employees what they recommended. We were told that we couldn’t leave without trying the Industry Bowl and the Chicken Tinga Tacos. So, that’s exactly what we did!

The bowl featured a blend of sweet and salty with half greens & kale mix and half warm ingredients. I thought that the cashew honey dressing added a subtle sweetness, while the smoked garlic rice and feta provided a savory umami balance. I am a big fan of sweet and salty, so this was my favorite item of the night!

The Chicken Tinga comes with three per order and is served with a side of chips and their homemade salsa. Every bite was packed with flavor and moistness, thanks to the rich chipotle sauce and cotija cheese. The chipotle sauce added a smoky, spicy depth, while the cotija cheese provided a creamy richness, making the dish exceptionally satisfying. This was my friend’s pick of the night because of how tender the chicken was!

We wrapped up our meal with a nostalgic sweet treat, Brownie ala mode. It was a rich, indulgent brownie layered with smooth vanilla ice cream, smothered in caramel and chocolate sauce, garnished with crunchy candied pecans, and finished with a perfect cherry on top.

Whether you’re enjoying the weather on the cozy patio, catching a game on one of the many TVs, or savoring a delicious meal and drinks, this downtown gem has it all. From the inviting atmosphere to the thoughtful touches, such as customizable ordering options and a pet-friendly environment, Industry is a must-visit destination. Gather your friends, the family, or your pets and head to Industry for an unforgettable dining experience!
