Mark your calendars for June 15 and 16, as the second annual Tokyo X Festival returns to Houston promising a vibrant celebration of Japanese culture. Held at the NRG Center, this two-day event is set to captivate attendees with a rich blend of traditional and contemporary Japanese experiences.

With over 168,000 square feet of event space, Tokyo X is poised to provide an unforgettable experience, surpassing the impressive 18,000 attendees of last year. Festival Highlights

Tokyo X began as a vision to unite chefs inspired by Japanese cuisine to create their interpretations of Japanese street food. Now in its third year, the festival has grown into a major cultural event in Houston, fostering a sense of community and cultural exchange.

Tokyo X 2024 is set to offer a diverse array of attractions and activities:

  • Culinary Delights: Enjoy the flavors of Japan with dishes prepared by local Houston chefs, inspired by Japanese street food, animations, and authentic night markets. Confirmed Houston vendors include Dumpling Haus, Cloud 10 Creamery, Royce Chocolate, Lady M Crepe, Caobao, and Blk Mkt Birria. Additionally, over 12 restaurants from Japan will be showcasing their culinary skills.
  • Live Performances: The festival will feature a variety of performances, including singers Rozy and Shannon, Hip-Hop Artist Nevos Tyler, and the dynamic Taiko Drummer Kaminari Taiko.
  • Cultural Showcases: Attendees can explore traditional and modern Japanese arts through workshops, exhibitions, and demonstrations. Special guests include Hiroshima Kanatani, the illustrator from Godzilla, actor Matthew G Taylor from Resident Evil, and voice actors Patrick Pedraza and Blake Shepherd.
  • Vendor Booths: Discover a range of products from vendors such as BandaiGasaphon and Grand Archive, offering a taste of Japanese pop culture and more.

Tickets for Tokyo X are available now online. Early bird General Admission tickets are priced at $35 for Saturday and $30 for Sunday. The festival hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
