Eat and Drink Barbie Pink in Houston

With the Barbie movie release just around the corner, lots of places have Barbie-themed events. From pink cocktails to pink pastries to pink smoothies, there’s something for everyone with these Barbie options. Citizens of Montrose

Brand new Australian cafe, Citizens of Montrose, has the ultimate dish in honor of the film. The “Margot Robbie (barbie bowl)” consists of dragonfruit, orange, lemon and agave, topped with apple, strawberry, pineapple, coconut and bee pollen. It is a hot pink color and sure to be something Barbie (or Margot Robbie) would enjoy. The actress is from Australia, adding another great touch to the Aussie cafe. Pair it with a Velvet Latte (a wellness latte) for the perfect pink pairing.

Slowpokes

In honor of the movie, local coffee shop Slowpokes is launching two specialty drinks. Cool down with a “Barbie Girl”, which is a frosted pink berry lemonade with coconut milk. Or grab a pick-me-up “Barbie World”, which is an iced vanilla berry latte topped with strawberry cold foam and pink sprinkles. The drinks are available at all four Slowpokes locations the week of the premiere July 17-23.

Badolina Bakery

Badolina Bakery is known for their beautiful desserts, and their Raspberry Rose Cake is the perfect addition to any Barbie celebrations. The cake is fluffy and light, perfect for these warm months. Customers can choose a cloud, origami, heart, pearls, waves or desert for the shape. You can customize the color to various shades of pink. The bakery is also rolling out a specialty Barbie pink cake with sparkles the week of the movie. Be sure to place your order 24 hours in advance. 

Green Fork and Straw

With three locations in Houston, Green Fork and Straw is an easy stop for a grab and go smoothie while trying to stay cool this July. Barbie is sure to order the “Beautifull” – a hot pink smoothie consisting of seasonal berries, pineapple, mango, banana, lime, mint and cashew milk. Their brand new River Oaks location opened on July 10th!

Heights and Co.

Come on, Barbie, let’s go party at Heights and Co.. Sip on the Raspberry Lychee Margarita, The Salted Watermelon, Strawberry Sbagliato Spritz or the H&C Spritz, all in a lovely shade of pink. 

Picnik

New Montrose restaurant, Picnik, is calling Barbie and Ken with their signature Pitaya Margarita. It consists of tequila, dragonfruit, raw honey and lime. The better-for-you cocktails will keep you feeling food.  

Monkeys Tail

Known for flavorful and fun cocktails, Monkeys Tail, is a must every season. One summer cocktail stands out in Barbie’s world: the Basil Sandia Gimlet.  Gin, rum, watermelon juice, lime, simple syrup and basil make this the most refreshing drink for summer. 

Amrina 

In celebration of the new Barbie movie premiere, The Woodlands hot spot Amrina is adding two special dishes and a signature Barbie cocktail to their Chef’s Table tasting menu. Indulge in all pink and delicious things with their signature Tuna Tartare composed of yellowfin tuna, avocado, granny smith apple, sesame, salmon roe, and topped with tropical pink flowers. To finish off your tasting, step into the Barbie dream with their Clouds of Barbie dessert with pistachio cake and rose espura topped with a pistachio macaron and pistachio butter-filled gold lips. If you prefer to drink your pink, try their new Bartail – the perfectly pink cocktail featuring pisco, grapefruit juice, Campari, and simple syrup. 

Blossom Hotel  

Blossom Hotel, Houston’s newest luxury hotel, is celebrating the Barbie movie in style with a special Barbie Cocktail Menu. The dedicated menu showcases a trio of pink cocktails at their dazzling pink-accented rendezVu lobby bar, exclusively available during premiere weekend, July 21-23. Start your morning off in true Barbie fashion with their Malibu Mimosa ($18) featuring peach schnapps, raspberry puree, lychee puree, pink glitter and prosecco. Their Margarita in Pink ($17) with strawberry, creme de violette, fresh lime juice, triple sec, agave, tequila and pink sugar rim is not only refreshing but so perfectly pink that even Barbie would have to Instagram it. Lastly, their Malibu Beach Soda ($17) with elderflower liqueur, malibu rum, pink glitter and club soda, served over ice, will transport you straight to beaches of Cali.  

Café Leonelli 

Frohzen, The Bastion Collection’s innovative ice cream concept created by Michelin-starred Pastry Chef Salvatore Martone, has a Barbie pink strawberry gelato on its signature menu called Barbie Girl this month. Made fresh in-house, the sweet treat that can be found inside Café Leonelli is topped with a variety of hot pink sprinkles to get you in the Barbie mood!  

Kin Dee 

Thailand Sunrise ($15) – a perfectly pink cocktail featuring vodka, muddled pineapple, pineapple juice, lime juice, and grenadine garnished with lemon skin, Thai basil, and a freshly carved strawberry. 

Kirby Ice House  

Let’s toast to a summer filled with pink-tinted memories at Kirby Ice House, Houston’s go-to bar for refreshing libations! Grab your girl gang and swing by to sip on the fabulous Kirby Skinny Frose ($9.25) drink that perfectly complements the launch of the iconic Barbie movie! Take advantage of the specials on Wednesday at the Memorial location or Thursday at the Upper Kirby location, when you can get this drink for $4!

Le Jardinier at MFAH 

The Bastion Collection’s Le Jardinier at MFAH has introduced a bright pink seasonal dessert that is part of the new summer Seasonal Expression menu. Crafted by Pastry Chef Tiffani Ann Gkaris under the leadership of Michelin-starred Chef Salvatore Martone, the fresh delight includes Strawberry Mousse, Crème de Citron and Mint Gelee. Like all of the selections on Le Jardinier’s menu, this beautiful presentation not only pleases the eye but also the palate! 

Loch Bar

Step into the vibrant world of Barbie as you enjoy Loch Bar’s signature Frosé ($14); a perfectly pink blend of Rosé wine, Wheatley vodka, and strawberries. In the mood for something sweet? Check out the Strawberry Cheesecake ($11) topped with strawberry preserves and fluffy whipped cream – even Barbie would approve. 

Mandito’s Tex-Mex   

Come on Barbie, let’s go party at Mandito’s Tex-Mex in Bellaire! Celebrate the release of the new Barbie movie with Mandito’s delicious pink cocktails! For the perfect light pink refresher, check out their Mexico City Gin and Tonic with Condesa Prickly Pear & Orange Blossom Gin, Fever-Tree Premium Indian Tonic, and dragon fruit liqueur. If you are craving something more classic, try their Paloma featuring Arette Tequila Blanco, Fever-Tree Grapefruit Soda, grapefruit juice, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup with a black lava salt rim. Postino is making your Barbie beverage dreams come true with their Barbie Dream Spritz ($9) available at all six Houston locations during the opening weekend of the Barbie movie, from Friday, July 21 through Sunday, July 30.
