April 15, 2025Dallas is fast becoming a hotspot for global cuisine, and Indian food is one of its brightest stars.
Fueled by a vibrant and growing Indian community, the city offers a rich mix of authentic flavours, regional specialties, and modern twists that go far beyond the standard curry-house fare.
Whether you’re in the mood for buttery North Indian classics, spicy South Indian comfort food, or street-style snacks packed with punch, Dallas delivers it all—with warmth, tradition, and plenty of spice.
These restaurants aren’t just about food; they’re gateways into India’s diverse culture, served with a side of hospitality that feels like home.
Haven’t been to India yet? Don’t worry. One bite of a smoky tandoori kebab or a layered biryani, and you’ll understand why Indian cuisine is so beloved around the world.
In this guide, we’ve covered 10 of the best Indian restaurants in Dallas where you can experience the bold, beautiful spirit of India.
Top 10 Indian Restaurants in Dallas
Let’s explore these Indian food places located in Dallas to discover where you can truly experience the vibrant colours, bold spices, and rich spirit of India.
Urban Tadka is my top pick among Indian restaurants in Dallas whenever I’m craving bold Punjabi flavors. Their malai kofta is the best I’ve ever had anywhere, rich and creamy with just the right balance of spice.
The perfect combo is their lachha paratha with chicken tandoori. The tandoori arrives sizzling and full of smoky flavors, while the paratha is crispy outside yet soft inside.
The servings are generous, and the pricing is fair for the food quality. Just go and enjoy the best Indian Punjabi food in Dallas. It has a casual and comfortable vibe, good for a laid-back dinner or small group outing. Service can be a hit or miss.
Last time, although the food impressed me, the service felt rushed, and I could have been more attentive. Still, I’d go back just for the food alone.

The most authentic real deal Indian I’ve had so far is Urban Tadka in Irving. Better than anything I’ve had in the states.
My favorite though is Urban Tadka. Been going there for almost a decade now. Specifically there I recommend Chicken Kali Mirch, Methi Mattar Malai Paneer, Chicken Korma and Mughalai Chana. Trust me on the specifics if you go there, those are by far the best.
Urban Tadka is my favorite, absolutely loved their buffet but now it’s just entrees, which is still great.

Elephant Indian Bar & Grill has impressed by the first impression of Indian food, starting with their lamb biryani, which stands out with bold flavors and tender meat.
My personal “Oh my God” favorite is their butter chicken, made with bone-in dark meat and a rich, silky sauce. It’s pure, authentic, and comforting.
You must also try their crowd-favorite samosas, which are crisp and handmade and undoubtedly among the best you can have in town.
The space has a cozy, artsy vibe with casual seating perfect for dinners with friends. The staff is attentive and guides you well through the menu. Prices are decent, with satisfying serving portions.
They also offer several vegan options and are happy to accommodate dietary needs. A strong contender among new Indian restaurants in the area.

Living down the street and seeing this place come together, we finally took the time to try it out. I’m not well versed in Indian cuisine but all these dishes were amazing and packed with flavor. The samosas were so savory and crispy but in my opinion the Lamb Biriyani outshined the others. The service was outstanding, always making sure we had everything we needed and then some! We will definitely be back!
Hands down, this is the best Indian food we’ve had in Dallas. The flavors were authentic, the service was great, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!
I’m really glad I discovered this new Indian restaurant in Dallas! The bone-in tandoori chicken was cooked to perfection—super tender and well-seasoned. Plus, the prices were pretty reasonable. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in town. Memo, the manager, was fantastic and really prioritized customer service.

Roti Grill is another excellent option for the best Indian food in Dallas. The place is neat and hygienic, perfect for hanging out with friends and grabbing authentic Indian cuisine.
I love their butter chicken, which is flavourful and creamy. Their fresh, hot garlic naan is soft and complements all gravy items.
Another standout is their Texas-size serving of the chicken tikki masala. You can navigate the spice chart to customize spices according to your preferences.
The restaurant is slightly pricier, but portions are generous. They serve the best garlic nans and gravy items in a modern, clean setting.
If you are going with family or friends, this place is highly recommended for authentic Indian food in Dallas.
Tip: They offer the best malai kofta in Dallas. Do not skip.

Only words to use are Great or it slapped. We ordered samosas, two step Texas size masala and the best goat biryani.
Love the food - particularly the Chicken Makhani (butter chicken) is a family favorite. Prices for Indian food and beverages are reasonable. Prefer the Texas sized entrees.
To go order was made quickly, accurately and tasty. The dishes had the spice level mislabeled but no one died and everything was devoured so no harm no foul. Definitely give them a go if you’re looking for Indian food in the uptown area.

Hyderabad is famous for its Biryani, and whenever I am in the mood to taste the spice-rich Hyderabadi Biryani, this place is always my first consideration.
Their perfectly cooked mutton biryani is on another level: spicy and flavorful. From BBQ tikka to tandoori dishes, kebabs, Daal Tadka, and Mutton Karahi, everything is perfect with the right amount of spices.
If you want to experience how fish tastes with Indian spices, don’t forget to try their Fish Masala.
The prices are high but worth it for generous portions and tasty menu items. The service is fine, and it’s a good option to try and introduce yourself to Indian cuisine. You can ask to balance the spices to match your taste buds.
Note: They have moved to a new location on Greenville Avenue.

Fantastic place! We got the lamb curry and the butter chicken and both were delicious. We got mild spice and it was pretty hot for two Americans! Everything they serve is super fresh and the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable. The naan is the best we’ve ever had and the saffron chai was wonderful (we got a large container to take home). Cannot recommend this place enough!
Food was amazing as well as the service, this food taste like it’s very authentic Indian food, it’s very fresh. The naan is best there is! I recommend get the chili pepper naan, it has a bit of a kick to it but it tastes amazing! The fried fish is the best fish I’ve ever tried in the Dallas area! Very soft and great taste to it! Had a friend fly from out of town to just come try this place out!
Everything about this place is so great! By far the best Indian food in the area!! Our food was extra fresh and the people there are so great in offering recommendations and giving the best service, very personable and kind. To top it off, the flavor profiles are immaculate and I will be coming back regularly!

Kalachandji’s offers a peaceful dining experience that truly sets it apart from other Indian vegetarian restaurants in Dallas. Just don’t think and go try their lunch buffet and you will be surprised by the variety.
Noodles, steamed veggies, rice, samosas, and dessert puddings – everything is a standout here. The setting is serene, with a beautiful courtyard that adds to the charm.
The food feels light, fresh, and satisfying without being overly rich. Everything tastes home-cooked, and the staff is polite and welcoming. It’s a great place if you’re looking for a quiet, healthy alternative to typical lunch spots.
Located inside a temple, the ambiance is cozy and peaceful, perfect for slow, mindful dining with family or friends that too with reasonable prices and all-you-can-eat buffet menu.

Kalachandji's in East Dallas is authentic vegetarian Indian food and is inside a Hare Krishna temple. Good food inside a unique location. Definitely go out in the courtyard if weather permits.
Kalachandji's is one of my favorite restaurants! My only disappointment is that it took my so long to find out about it.
Kalachandji's is a vegan restaurant in the Hare Krishna Temple. The food is incredible and the people who run it are very kind. Definitely a hidden gem

India Palace offers one of the most consistent Indian fine dining experiences in Dallas. I always go for their lunch buffet.
The trays are refilled often, and everything from saag chole to malai kofta has that authentic, homestyle taste. The mango custard and rice pudding with crushed pistachios is a perfect finish to a fulfilling meal.
The service is very attentive and polished with a warm space offering a traditional vibe. At $18 per person, the buffet is fairly priced for the quality and variety. This place is a great pick when you want both comfort and quality.

India Palace is our go to spot for Indian cuisine.
India Palace is my absolute favorite restaurant, like ever. So good.
Our goto is India Palace on Preston and 635. The quality of food reminds me of the ITC hotels in India. It’s authentic but Americanized enough that my American family eats it.

Shiva’s Bar and Grill offers more than just dinner, it’s a wholesome dining experience. I love their coconut masala with chicken and reshmi kebab; both dishes burst with deep, bold flavors.

shiva's bar and grill in dallas is pretty good for authentic indian food.
As a native Houstonian who is more often than not pretty underwhelmed by the Dallas food situation… I 100% agree Shiva’s is legit. Make sure to confirm requested spice level, as sometimes they are light handed or heavy handed :)

It’s rare to find an upscale Indian restaurant that nails both flavour and service, and by both factors, I mean top-notch. Mughlai does exactly that. The ambiance is inviting.
As a starter I always love their crispy samosas. Among the main items, their lamb curry and shrimp tikka are divine.
Portions are generous with reasonable prices and professional attendants (they happily adjust spice levels to your likings). Their wine selection is a pleasant surprise and paired well with the meal.
Service is attentive without being rushed, with thoughtful recommendations from the server. Mughlai delivers on consistency, quality, and comfort. It’s a spot I always wait to revisit for a Dallas Indian restaurant.

I didn't expect to get this much food, until I opened the to-go container. Food was hot and had a decent amount of spiciness. Curry on the top left side was delicious.
Definitely enough for 2-3 meals here. 80% of it is vegetarian which I find to be a challenge with this app if you have any dietary restrictions. Seems like the only safe bets are doughnut shops. I’m satisfied with this, the food is so spicy and flavorful.

I randomly visited Indian Masala Tadka restaurant while exploring the area near the Aquarium. The service was warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious.
I loved their vegetable samosas, packed with flavor and two sauces that tasted better than usual. For my main, I went with goat vindaloo at 8-star (Stars in menu to customize the intensity of spices) heat—perfectly spicy with deep, layered flavors.
The plain naan complements the main course well. It was generous and soft. Goat Pulav is another standout in rice.
To top everything off, do not sleep on their mango lassi, which is icy cold, thick, and refreshing. This
This Indian restaurant in Dallas is worth visiting for reasonably priced, authentic, and spicy North & South Indian cuisines in town.
Tip: If you are a vegetarian, you must try their Dal Tadka, Mixed Veg Curry, and Dal Palak (with Tandoori Roti).

2000/10! The food at Indian Masala Tadka was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. I ordered the cholay masala and garlic naan, and from the very first bite, I was in love! The flavors were spot on, and everything tasted so authentic. I can’t wait to explore more of their menu because it was that good. Highly recommend this spot to anyone craving amazing Indian food!
So very good. Everything we tried was delicious and a lot of protein. Such a great deal!
