Titanic. The Human Story Exhibition to Make Its Debut In Austin
More than a century after the tragic sinking of the RMS Titanic in the icy waters of the North Atlantic, a powerful new exhibition will bring the human stories behind the historic disaster to life in Austin. Titanic. The Human Story, created by the award-winning exhibition producer Musealia and presented by Fever, will make its debut on April 10, 2026.
The acclaimed exhibition offers a deeply personal look at one of history’s most well-known maritime tragedies, which claimed the lives of 1,496 people. Curated with renowned Titanic historian Claes-Göran Wetterholm, the experience draws on more than four decades of research into the lives of the ship’s passengers and crew. Through carefully preserved artifacts and immersive storytelling, the exhibition reveals the individuals behind the headlines, presenting their journeys, hopes, and final moments aboard the legendary vessel.
Rather than focusing solely on the disaster itself, Titanic. The Human Story explores the lives of those who traveled on the ship during its maiden—and final—voyage. Visitors are invited to step back in time through a narrative-driven experience that highlights the personal histories of passengers and crew members, offering an emotional and historical perspective rarely seen in traditional exhibitions.

An Immersive Journey Into the Past
Guests will move through a chronological journey that traces the events leading up to the Titanic’s fateful night in April 1912. The exhibition features more than 200 original artifacts connected to passengers and crew members, many of which have never before been displayed in the United States. Items such as photographs, handwritten letters, and personal keepsakes help reveal the stories, relationships, and dreams carried aboard the ship.
The experience also includes life-size recreations of selected interiors from the Titanic, allowing visitors to visualize daily life aboard the vessel. These detailed installations provide context for the ship’s grandeur while illustrating the stark differences between the experiences of first-, second-, and third-class passengers.
To further deepen the experience, a dynamic audio guide accompanies guests throughout the exhibition. Through narration, music, and sound effects, the guide recounts the events of April 14, 1912, immersing visitors in the atmosphere of that historic night and providing additional insight into the people who lived through it.

Preserving the Human Stories of the Titanic
By focusing on the personal narratives behind the tragedy, Titanic. The Human Story offers a poignant reminder of the individuals whose lives were forever changed by the disaster. The exhibition invites visitors of all ages to explore the truths and myths surrounding the so-called “unsinkable” ship while honoring the courage, sacrifice, and humanity of those on board.
Through artifacts, immersive environments, and storytelling, the exhibition commemorates the lives lost while highlighting the heroism and resilience displayed during one of the most defining moments in maritime history.
