Find the best spots in Austin for your TikTok videos! This list is for anyone who uses TikTok as a creator, just for fun, or anyone visiting from out of town that want in on the city’s adventures. Everyone should have the opportunity to capture fun moments in real-time at some of Austin’s prime locations. And make sure to give your TikTok a follow!
We’ll begin with Taquero Mucho, arguably one of the most famous spots in Austin to film a TikTok. Located at 508 West Ave, this place offers cocktails and iconic pink drinks. Taquero Mucho is known for its all-pink alcoholic beverages, its decorative insta-worthy walls, and pink tacos. If you’re a fan of aesthetically pleasing ambiances and drinking this is a must-visit spot.
This spot has been making the rounds on social media as Austin’s most interactive art exhibit. They currently have 12 immersive installations in a 28,000 square-foot warehouse and are now a permanent fixture of Austin’s art scene. The exhibit is currently still taking COVID-19 precautionary measures to preserve the safety of visitors. Its immersive installations are only there for a while, with new ones rotating out every few months. Check out the Tik Tok famous installations before they’re gone!
The Selfie Galleries
Self-proclaimed the “Most Instagrammable Place in Austin,” the Selfie Galleries is a one-of-a-kind interactive art installation. It’s an exhibit that centers itself around creating unique and unforgettable selfies. This selfie museum opened in late May and currently features 20 immersive installations, each wildly different from the other. Tickets range from $20 for one hour to $500 for an hour private event. A hidden cove in the middle of downtown Austin, Zanzibar is a tropical-themed restaurant and bar. Located on the rooftop of the Marriott Downtown, the restaurant has sparkling views of the city and lake. Notable favorites include the Sushi Burrito, Pulled Pork Sliders––and the drinks come in unique ornamental cups, like a cactus and bamboo stick. They even have a pool you can buy day passes for! They take walk-ins but stop once the restaurant has filled reservations, so if you want a secured seat make sure to book in advance.
This is Mesmerize
Another immersive experience in Austin, this art installation gallery follows the journey of Mesmer, an artist and amateur tinkerer who opens a portal to explore the infinite cosmic possibilities of the multiverse. While the current exhibit is currently closed, they are opening a new location so you can stay updated with them @thisismesmerize on Instagram!
Located at the Domain, Wonderbar is a bright and whimsical bar perfect for having fun drinks and shooting Tik Toks! The main area remains consistent, but they feature a rotation of installations throughout the year. Their most fun drink: their Disco Bull, a concoction of Bacardi Dragon Berry, Redbull Tropical watermelon, and lime served in a disco ball.
If you loved Taquero Mucho then you’ll love Revival Coffee. Owned by the same person that operates Taquero Mucho and Gabriela’s Downtown, Gabriela Lopez-Bucio brings her signature pink hue to this coffee shop. Revival Coffee is like the younger sister of Taquero Mucho. It’s a chill place where you can vibe and do some work but still immerse yourself with the same beautiful pink aesthetic.
