Summer House On Music Lane

Tucked away just off of South Congress sits Austin’s lake house getaway, Summer House on Music Lane. Summer House is the product of @bunkhousehotels and sister to @hotelmagdalena. From brunch to dinner, Summer House is “inspired by the casual sophistication that defines a lake house weekend.” From the moment guests are greeted to the time the bill arrives connected to a vintage postcard, Summer House is an escape from the bustle of downtown Austin.

Greeted by hues of greens and natural textures, the atmosphere at Summer House is genuinely transformative. The 70’s inspired decor touches every corner of the space. Sit inside for a cozy chat under the glow of the oversized lanterns, or relax outside and let the breeze flow through the trees and table.

While breakfast is available throughout the week from 7 – 11 AM, brunch is served on weekends only from 10 AM – 3 PM. Both menus feature delicate scones, breakfast sandwiches, a classic Summer House breakfast, and more. Summer House also serves the popular Philadelphia-based coffee brand La Colombe.

When talking over the menu with our waitress, we quickly noticed how hard it would be to narrow it down to just a few dishes to try. We started lunch with a whipped feta appetizer and were not disappointed. Afterward, we were greeted with the Hamachi Crudo and loved all of the bright and fresh flavors. The caesar salad was a favorite, and by recommendation from our waitress, we added the crispy chicken, which was the perfect combination. Fill up with the fettuccine pasta or the smash burger with fries. The dessert menu feels like ending a long day at the lake with a sweet treat. The olive oil cake is a must-try along with their homemade ice cream.

After visiting summer House on Music Lane, you won’t believe this oasis is tucked off of South Congress. Stop in for brunch, or stay for happy hour. The relaxed, sophisticated atmosphere makes Summer House the perfect backdrop for any occasion. Check them out at
