Elizabeth Street Cafe is a neighborhood gem that has been delighting Austin residents since 2011. With a bright, quirky interior and a quaint, shady patio, it’s a lovely place to enjoy a meal. The whimsical colors, art, and French bistro twist make it a picture-perfect setting.

This Vietnamese restaurant and French bakery have a wide menu that can satisfy breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner cravings. Their true specialty has to be the fresh pastries and bread that they use in the entrées. However, it’s safe to say that everything on the menu will leave you wanting more.

Our Experience

Considering how natives and travelers of Austin alike rave about Elizabeth Street Cafe, our team here at Texas Tasty thought it was about time to give it a visit. The Vietnamese-French fusion was enticing enough for us to make our way over, but add in an aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor dining space, it’s a yes from us!

Elizabeth Street Cafe Menu

Elizabeth Street Cafe’s claim to fame stems from several of its popular dishes. The báhn mi is definitely a fan favorite. Each one is served on a freshly made baguette with homemade mayonnaise, cucumber, daikon, carrots, sambal, cilantro, and jalapeños. There are ten options for the fillings, two of those being vegetarian-friendly.

The coffee is also worth the hype; they’re known for their Stumptown coffee beans that they get from Portland. The roast is always perfect and makes an excellent pair for the brunch menu. If you haven’t tried their Vietnamese coffee it’s a must. It’s on the stronger side but is sweetened with condensed milk which gives it a super smooth consistency. They also offer a large variety of coffee classics if you’re looking for something simple.

Pastries are made from scratch daily here. Ranging from savory items like croissants and baguettes to things that’ll satisfy your sweet tooth like eclairs and macarons. If you call 24 hours ahead you can special order a box to take home.
