This family-owned Italian restaurant will have you feeling like you’ve swapped Central Texas for Tuscany. The ivy-covered Trattoria lies on the Mandola Estate and Vineyard, in Driftwood. The lamb chops or the various pastas are favorites, paired with the wine from the Dutchman Family Winery next door. You may want to take advantage of the outdoor seating, with gorgeous views, but they also have a nice dining room and to-go.

6 – Jester King Brewery
The Hill town is spotted with Breweries, but Jester King is a local favorite. They are known for their craft beers, pizzas and bakery, which has a new Shortbread biscuit called the “Ted Lasso Cookie”. Located on a 165-acre ranch, Jester King has a lot of outdoor and covered seating. You can also place to-go orders. But, they give tours of their goat barn, so you may wanna stay for a bit.

If beer isn’t your thing, you can try one of the many wineries near Dripping Springs. Bell Springs Winery sits on a beautiful piece of land that they allow you to picnic on. You can bring food, but their food truck has soups, sandwiches, and snacks, like the smoked sausage tossed in blackberry pepper jam. They also offer walk-in and table tasting with chef prepared food. The only take-out is for the food truck, and Bell Springs does offer catering services.

No list of Dripping Springs restaurants is complete without the famous Salt Lick Barbecue. The Robert’s family, owners of Salt Lick, have been in the Dripping Springs area, in Driftwood, for generations. The restaurant has garnered national attention by being a frequent feature on the Food Network. Everything from the brisket to the cobblers are delicious, and it should tell you something that my family has been shipping Salt Lick Barbeque sauce from Driftwood to Atlanta for years. They have lots of indoor and covered seating at the Driftwood location, with the option to take out.
