Churro Co In Austin – Detailed Restaurant Review

South First is home to many food truck parks, but Churro Co may be one of the most popular. Making the sugar treats out of a small trailer, you may miss it driving by. But that little trailer brings a whole lot of deliciousness.

Founded by two childhood friends from Mexico, David Martinez, and Leo Mendoza, wanting to pay homage to Mexican street food, they decided Churros were a perfect choice.

about Churro CO in Austin

They brought the “foodie spirit” of Austin with inventive flavors to the traditional Mexican churro. Today, if you ask for a dessert recommendation in the neighborhood, many will answer with “the churro truck”.

Churro Co Menu

A churro is traditionally deep-fried dough rolled in cinnamon sugar, often paired with a chocolate sauce. Churro Co, of course, has the “Traditional w/Sauce” which are two churros with chocolate, cajeta (Mexican caramel), or Nutella putting dipping sauce, at only $3.75. The perfect crispiness on the outside and doughy softness on the inside show how great an original can be.

But, as all good Austinites, they like to get weird. Besides the traditional, the menu rotates new items. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, Churro Co also has you covered.

The “Texas Comfort” are churros tossed in cardamom sugar with homemade apple pie, salted caramel and whipped cream on top.

For some more complex flavors the “Blue Velvet” is tossed in cinnamon sugar and topped with white chocolate ginger ganache, lavender blueberries and whipped cream.
